A pragmatic approach to hijrah in akhirul zaman
As we move ever closer to the end of the historical process (proof of which is evident to those with eyes to see, ears to hear and hearts to comprehend) the possibility, desire and even necessity of hijrah becomes more and more of a reality. To believers who wish to save their humanity, the morality, innocence, mannerism and psychological, emotional and physical chastity of their children, the idea of hijrah presents itself as the only viable solution.
Now, as romantic as the idea of hijrah is, especially to those who fondly recall books and stories regarding the life of the seal of the prophets and messengers Muhammad Ibn Abdullah (s.a.w.s), there is an innate desire to experience the joys of hijrah akin to the experiences of the earliest muhaajireen in Abyssinia and Medina; it is imperative to recognize that akhirul zaman presents a host of concerns that prior to its advent mankind had never faced from the time of Adam (a.s.w.s). Indeed hijrah itself is referenced many times in the holiest of writs, the Qur'an, the speech of Allah almighty, the most merciful and exalted.
Our intention is to provide practical insight into the notion and pursuit of hijrah in the modern age, here we will share our experiences and grass root knowledge of various Muslim majority countries in hopes of assisting and benefiting our readers; understanding the realities and subsequent challenges of modern global society will enable the modern muhaajir to navigate more efficiently insha Allah .
